Optimize the production process through leak test equipment

To meet Regulations requirements and/or supply specifications, in several cases the sealing of the pieces produced is required, setting acceptance/rejection thresholds for each piece and/or activity to be processed.
Due to above, the testing phase of the production process also include the leak test, requiring objective, measurable and repeatable results.

Even if for artisanal production (which rarely has to meet such requirement) empirical tests may be sufficient – such as the “cyclist” one, carried out by immersing the piece in water and verifying any bubbles leaking – for industrial production processes it is necessary to get more professional equipment.

The use of leak test devices for the testing phases brings several advantages:

  • The test is OBJECTIVE and REPEATABLE: it doesn’t depend on the sensitivity and subjective judgment of the Operator, but carries out systematic measurements according to pre-established and fixed criteria and procedures;
  • It’s FAST, as it minimizes setting time before, and completely eliminates drying time after (in fact, it is not necessary to immerse the pieces to perform the test);
  • It gives quantitative results, therefore MEASURABLE: the leak is not only detected, but also measured, and the test results can be saved for subsequent analysis.
  • In some cases (for example for aluminium castings) it allows the RECOVERY of the pieces: in fact, intermediate threshold can be set allowing the picking up of the piece (by impregnation, reworking, etc.) and carrying out a second test to double.check the requirement complying after the interevention.

Moreover, carrying out the test held with a dedicated tool improves the Job Quality for the Operator: this phase in fact no longer requires direct supervision (which could be alienating), but only the monitoring of correct execution and final verification, effectively qualifying the functions performed.
